Title: Beachrock Research Slides of Richard J. Russell Collection
Dr. Russell became internationally known for his research not only in Louisiana, but also throughout the world. This collection contains numerous slides of photographs that Dr. Russell took while doing his beachrock research around the world.

Title: Germany's Wild Medicinal Plants (Deutschlands wildwachsende Arzney-Pflanzen)
Published in 1828, Johann Gotttleib Mann's Deutschlands wildwachsende Arzney-Pflanzen (Germany’s Wild Medicinal Plants) contains hand-colored lithographs of medical plants, flowers, and fruits.

Title: Higgins Industries
For nearly thirty years, the boat building company founded by Andrew Jackson Higgins was an important fixture in New Orleans. Higgins specialized in shallow-draft boats suitable to the bayous of Louisiana. With World War II that reputation enabled Higgins Industries to become one of the largest manufacturers of U. S. naval combat boats during World War II.

Title: John Goulds Birds of Great Britain
John Gould, a British zoologist active throughout the mid-19th century, is known chiefly for the over 3000 hand colored lithographs he produced throughout his career. The first volume of one of his most successful publications, The Birds of Great Britain, can be found in the Special Collections & Archives at Loyola's Monroe Library.
Title: Louisiana Coastal Ecology, Richard J. Russell Collection
Maps, aerial photographs, audio files, geographic surveys, and interpretative materials on Louisiana's coastal zone. Materials were used by geologist and geographer Richard J. Russell. Russell, who established a reputation as a world expert on the Mississippi and other delta regions, as well as on coastal erosion and coastal ecology.
Title: Louisiana Ecology and Conservation, The Percy Viosca Jr. Collection
While employed by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Percy Viosca, a pre-eminent herpetologist, documented the coastal Louisiana landscape between 1921 and 1932.

Title: Loyola University New Orleans University Photographs Collection
This collection is comprised of photographs dating back to the early 20th century from Loyola's University Archives. Early photographs include some taken by famed New Orleans photographer E.J. Bellocq. Since 1949, the university has employed an official photographer. While a large part of the photographs in the collection come from these university employees, many photographs in the collection are unidentified. When the photographer is known, photos will be credited to that person. Unidentified photos will be credited to the university.

This collection is comprised of LSU Libraries materials related to the agriculture and manufacture of sugar. Materials were chosen by the LSU Sugar Research Station and funded in part by the American Sugar Cane League. A near complete run of The Sugar Bulletin is available in the collection.

Since 1933, the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans (LSUHSC-NO) Library has collected newspaper clippings related to the history and accomplishments of Louisiana's first public health sciences institution.
Title: LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport Audiovisual Collection
This collection contains important events in the history of the LSU Health Sciences Center at Shreveport that were captured on film, as well as recorded interviews of key figures in the development of the School of Medicine. These audiovisual clips represent full length film reels, Umatic tapes, VHS tapes, and cassette tapes located in the LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport, Medical Library Archives that were digitized and transferred to DVD and CD.

Title: LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport Newspaper Clippings
This collection of newspaper clippings documents significant events in the history of the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport with the primary focus being the establishment of the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. Nearly 2,000 clippings from the Shreveport Times and the Shreveport Journal date from the 1960s through the 1980s.
Title: LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport Photograph Collection
This collection of nearly 3,000 photographs documents the people, facilities, and events that were significant to the growth and development of the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. With several name changes over the years (Shreveport Charity Hospital, Confederate Memorial Medical Center, and LSU Medical Center), this multi-campus health care and educational institution has a 140-year history. Photographs in this collection are primarily the work of Gordon W. Maxcy, a registered biomedical photographer whose 34-year career began in 1948 at the Shreveport Charity Hospital. During his career he was responsible for photographing employees and hospital events and documenting the daily life at the hospital, nursing school, and medical school. Also included in this collection are historic photographs of the Shreveport Charity Hospital and staff from the late 1800s and the early 1900s taken by Burch Enos Grabill and William "Bill" Grabill, father and son owners of Grabill Studio in Shreveport.
Title: LSU School of Dentistry Historic Photographs
This collection includes selected photographs that document the major events, significant figures, and facilities of the L.S.U. School of Dentistry. The fifth dental school in the history of Louisiana, LSUSD was established in 1968 on a World War II naval base on Bayou St. John in the city of New Orleans. The only dental school in Louisiana, LSUSD offers programs in dentistry, dental hygiene, dental laboratory technology, and advanced education in major dental specialties. The School of Dentistry library houses an archive of historic documents and photographs pertaining to the school, as well as the history of dentistry and dental education in the state of Louisiana.

This collection contains representative images of Medieval Manuscript Facsimiles found in the LSU Libraries Special Collections Library. Information about the original manuscripts is included in the data for each one. The facsimiles may be viewed in Hill Memorial Library.
Title: University of New Orleans Electronic Theses and Dissertations
This collection represents the research endeavors of students enrolled in the 40 master's degree and 11 doctoral degree programs at The University of New Orleans. Since 2001, The Graduate School at UNO has encouraged its students to make their contributions to the academic community accessible through the electronic submission of their manuscripts. Starting with the Fall 2006 semester, all theses and dissertations will be required to be submitted to this collection.

Title: Veterans of Southeast Louisiana
The Archives and Special Collections Department at Nicholls State University has created a collection of videotaped interviews of U.S. veterans living in southeast Louisiana. The collection consists of interviews primarily from Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes, but also includes interviews from the following parishes: Assumption, Iberia, Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, and St. Mary. Participants in the interviews range from service in World War II to the present conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, including service during peacetime. The interviews feature their life growing up in Louisiana, military experience, and life after active duty. The collection includes a short biography, photographs, and relevant military documents of each veteran. It also relates their accounts of growing up in southeast Louisiana, reflecting the history and culture of their respective areas.
